The works on paper begin with the monotype process. I work with layering of tints and shapes, creating textures as a foundation to the piece. In experimenting this way, I incorporate photography, Xerox transfers, Chine Colle, embossing found objects, drawing and painting.
Exploring the limits, then pushing just a bit more. The times are rare, but I get a thrill by successfully breaking the rules to this very process oriented medium. There is something quite exquisite about the paper's acceptance and fusing of the pigments. That pressing in, and leaving behind a pristine surface absurd in color.
